I have been looking into how I can create interesting, eye stopping designs that make the most out of minimal materials such as die cutting, embossing, folding etc. Die cutting type and any graphics requires extra consideration as some details may be hard to display (such as counter spaces) without reducing the strength and finished quality of the printed material.
This
magazine special presents a collection of interesting typefaces which work effectively even when cut as stencils. I may experiment and produce some tests utilising this die cutting technique as a way of reducing materials.
