I have been flicking through behance featured portfolios lately and come across some brilliant work. This is the work of Ben Crick. All of this identity and type work is brilliant, I love the custom typefaces and the application of vector graphics to communicate the subject of the company.
Otl Aicher's pool on flickr features tonnes of interesting designs from Aicher's history. His famous icon design and work for the Olympics made him forever a hero in the eyes of many students studying modernism.
I have just stumbled across these guys again after doing so many months ago. I must have forgot to blog them in the first place. Looking back at their work I have been enticed by their variety of projects, identity, exhibition design, music promotion and pretty much anything else I have just been deciding to focus on in my own studies.
Their work is fantastic and varied, I have been grabbing a few images from their website but you really should have a look on their cause I have ended up grabbing far too many really. Just so many relevant bits and bobs, typefaces, colours, techniques, inspiring formats and concepts.
Zyoma recently added me on flickr so I had a look at their stuff and found some interesting bits amongst all of the photos. There is a logo that I was a bit gutted to discover as it is based upon logs and is similar to my own ideas for the eco gallery logo. Anyway I thought I should stick it up on here anyway. My ideas are quite different really and we're not in primary school any more.
I found network osaka a while ago now and have been waiting for a relevant time to blog it. So here it is http://www.networkosaka.com/. It's an extensive website with a huge collection of interesting modern graphic design.
For two of my current briefs I have been looking at modernist layouts through poster design. I admire network osaka's simple use of gridded type and symbolic imagery that compliment each other through colour, shape, texture etc.
Modern book design and identity work from the portfolio of Marcel Kampman. Inspiring simple use of lines, type and grid to produce functional interesting design. I love browsing his website, as you scroll down the page each of the four columns refresh and back date. Have a play about.
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon the gorgeous, impressively extensive collection of Mark Brooks' logo designs on behance.
I was blown away by the huge amount of innovative designs. I bookmarked immediately and since then have checked back on Brooks' website a few times for updates. There is some gorgeous print work and cross media identity work which is definitely worth a look. Here's the logo compendium.
